Home Church

The awesome grace of our Sovereign Lord appointed the beginning of our church in 2002. During that same year, we formerly incorporated in Florida as a Non-Profit Corporation (church). Over the following year, we established ourselves, according to the laws of the United States, as a Tax Exempt 501(C)3 non-profit organization. Church on the Rock Assembly is an independent, non-denominational church that relies solely upon the Scriptures for direction.

We began meeting, worshipfully, in the Pastor's home as of Easter in March 2002. In June 2007, we began to share space with a local church. However, after one year, the decision was made non-renew our lease contract due to their decision to increase our lease cost by three times.

Therefore, as of May 2008, the Pastor was moved, by the Spirit of God, to reject the renewal of the lease, as proposed, and, also, the Pastor was moved, prayerfully and painfully, to send out the congregation. Thus, the instruction was extended, to all the congregation, to go out and evangelize and to seek opportunities to preach and teach the truth in their communities and local churches. The organization remained in tact, however, as Church on the Rock Assembly and Dr McCutcheon continued to hold the office as Pastor.

Immediately, in June 2008, the Pastor was moved to embark on a three month sabbatical to refresh and to wait on the Word of the Lord and His provision.  The Pastor remained active as he and his wife and daughter continued to meet Sunday mornings. Having been given the opportunity by the Lord, for those three months, to fully engage in reading and studying, was a prayerful time to consider what the Lord was doing.

Amazingly, the Lord provided many ministry opportunities for all of us during that time. God be praised!

The Pastor returned, then, September 2008, to Bible teaching and Sunday sermons in his house.  Once again, the church was moved by the Spirit to assemble together as Church on the Rock Assembly. It resumed a home church where the Lord has added those who desire to hear the unadulterated Word of God.

The Pastor of Church on the Rock Assembly, Dr. Stuart McCutcheon, had not drawn a salary from the church through 2008 and neither had received a stipend for time away or during sabbatical.  The Pastor was employed full time by a local business. Although that work is necessary to provide support for his family, it also permitted the Pastor time and resources to provide for ministry.

Currently, the Pastor has been unemployed for over one and a half years, but remains grateful that God has always faithfully provided, marvelously, to continue this ministry. Humbly, we remain servants of God and consider ourselves so very blessed to be members of Church on the Rock Assembly. God has mightily blessed all of us.
